Description

The largest of the local She-Oaks, they can provide dense shade in the garden. Plants are either male or female. Male trees have tiny golden-orange "flowers" on the green branches, while female plants have small (1cm or less) red flowers that grow on the bare branches (see photos).

Advice

Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Welcome Summer shade can be provided with this species, perhaps near the BBQ so the cook can avoid a Summer sunburn.
