Description

Variable in height, this hardy tussock-forming grass is not as tall as Rytidosperma caespitosum. Plants about 20cm high grow within 1m of plants 50cm high in local reserves. It likes full sun or light shade and suits most local soils. Seedheads are oval and fluffy.

Maintenance

In the past, the leaves of Wallaby Grasses were regularly eaten (pruned) by wallabies, so will benefit from being cut back to about 5cm in December or January. This will also keep it tidy over Summer.
