Description


A shortish tussock-forming grass with narrow grey-green leaves. The flowerheads are green and purplish and become straw-coloured and fluffy when in seed. Prefers full sun or light shade in moist soil but copes with drier conditions once established.

Advice


Maintenance

In the past, the leaves of Wallaby Grasses were regularly eaten (pruned) by wallabies, so will benefit from being cut back to about 5cm in mid- to late Autumn. Cutting back earlier risks the sun burning the parts where the new leaves will grow from.
